He joined Bloomberg from The Wall Street Journal, where he spent nearly 20 years reporting and editing stories on technology, politics, religion, science, the environment, and personal finance. He started in 1991 and became WSJ’s first Internet beat reporter. He ran the Journal’s ideas section, Currents, which used five columnists. He was also banking and finance editor who covered the foreclosure crisis and the financial meltdown. Before WSJ, he was a senior technology writer forNewsweek magazine. He started in journalism at the MacNeil Lehrer NewsHour in 1990 and became a producer.
